Write a small piece about yourself they said, yeh easier said than done. So sorry if this bores you but here goes....

Being the tender age of mumble mumble I’ve had an Atari for, well, too many years really. It’s served me well and has gone through many changes and upgrades. The last one being putting the 16Mhz 4 meg STFM, hard drives, host adaptor and 2 floppy drives all in a Tower. This was fondly called Precious Macloud. Although at the time of writing this it is up for sale as I’ve moved over to the dreaded PC. This doesn’t mean I don’t use an Atari, I’ve still got a 4 meg STE downstairs and I run an Atari emulator on the PC.

I’m also involved in running the very excellent (modest as ever) SHAG user group...SHAG stands for Stevenage & Hertfordshire Atari Group by the way and not some seedy den of iniquity...grin So I may be PC’d up but I still support the Trusty old Atari scene, well I wouldn’t be doing SHAG or the Fanzine if I didn’t now would I....grin

My main uses of the computers are DTP (there’s a surprise), Graphics, music and of course comms. I’ve been doing DTP ever since I got my Atari and bought Pagestream. To me Pagestream is the best DTP package on the Atari today. Never mind ya Calumus, Pagestream wipes the floor with it, with it’s easy use and very fine control over every aspect of DTP.....er...plug over. I did study Graphic Design at college but that was well before the days of DTP on computers, I learnt the old art of paste up...oh those were the days, now it’s oh so simple, but you try telling the kids that today......er...went off at a tangent there....grin

If that’s not bad enough I’m also a dedicated Carp fisherman, but I won’t go into that as I’ll take up far too much space......Needless to say I’ll have to get a laptop so I can do the Fanzine while fishing.....hehehe

How did I get involved in STPlus Fanzine, not quite sure, I was talking to Tony one day and suddenly I’m involved. I’m sure he used to be a second hand car salesman..

Anyway enough waffle...hope you enjoy the Fanzine, if you got any ideas or questions or just want a chat about carp fishing you know me email address...

Catch ya Later....Gordon 8)
