Subject: Buggies, Bears, & Bands - a kite festival in Ontario

Next weekend Rick Curtis & Anne Sloboda of Boreal Kites are hosting
an event we decided to call...

"Buggies, Bears, & Bands / Strawberry Fields Festival 1994" 

Date - Sunday, June 19

Time  - 1 to 4 pm

Place - the south lawn of the Pyschiatric Hospital, St Thomas
Ontario (seems fitting, eh?)

Who - the event is open to anyone who cares to come

What's it all about?

For several years a small group has been gathering at about this
time of year to fly kites, and sample the fresh strawberries that
are just in season in the area. The psych hospital on the outskirts
of St Thomas has a great huge lawn to offer. Each year a few more
people have come out, resulting in an ever widening scope of
activities.

This year we hope to have several avid buggiers, our usual troop of
kite zanies, and the 2nd Canadian ParaBeast (formerly ParaBear)
Regiment. Several non-kiters thought this was a fun idea as well, so
they have assembled a live band to play for the occasion. Almost
nothing is "planned", but it will most certainly be fun. Only the
rokakku battle is guaranteed to happen, and perhaps some fighting
lessons for new rok owners.
