Linux Omen Reader 1.94 (LORE)
Copyrights 1995-1996 by Ville Hallivuori.

LORE is distributed under GNU General Public License version 2.
See file COPYING for licensing details.

I What is lore
LORE is off-line reader. It reads OMEN packets created by many
BBS-systems. OMEN format is superior to QWK in every aspect. OMEN is
not LORE's proprietary format -- it is a open standard developed by
Omsoft (and author of LORE does not have any connections to creators
of OMEN standard, but the standard is public domain).

II Installation
Just say "make; make install". If you manage to compile (should be
easy) LORE on some other platform than Linux, please mail to author
(I will add your OS to supported platforms).

When user starts LORE first time, LORE will ask some questions,
and then it will create users personal configuration. User may
set environment variable LORE_COLORS to "true" or "false" (case
sensitive). If LORE_COLORS is set, LORE will not ask color-question at
startup. Lore does not use ncurses' has_colors(), because otherwise
users (like the author) of color/ansi-xterm would have to use b/w display.

III Using LORE
Using lore is very easy, because of its intuitive interface (menu-driven
and short cuts for advanced users). Just press ? or choose keys from
help-menu. Press m or ESC for menu.

IV Whats new from previos version
Nothing. Only thing that has changed is, that LORE will now compile with
  new GCCs (v 2.7.2).

V New features and contacting author
If you like some feature of some other off-line reader, and want it to
LORE, just send mail to me. If I have time and interest, I will add
this feature to LORE's next version.
